Beginnings in the old country
Executive chef and owner, Davide Giuliani, was born and raised in Rome, Italy and had his first cooking lessons in his grandmother’s kitchen. Growing up in a culture where food and wine are celebrated topics of conversation on a daily basis, he couldn’t help but develop a true passion for cooking. Davide furthered his homegrown education by attending pastry school and becoming a certified sommelier. Pasta, desserts and wine education in Italy combined with fearlessness determination earned him a one-way ticket to the United States. All of his success resulted in the opening of Ristorante Bella Roma in Helena, Montana.

A Taste of Italy
Whether you have always dreamed of the Italian countryside or come from an Italian family yourself, Ristorante Bella Roma’s beautiful cuisine and warm, rustic atmosphere will make you feel like you’re dining al fresco in Italy.
The design of Ristorante Bella Roma pays homage to Chef Davide’s home town of Rome, Italy. You’ll enter through a garden and be greeted by a fountain that resembles the drinking fountains found on the cobbled streets of Rome. Once inside, you can enjoy a table next to a grand mural of the Fontana Di Trevi while perusing the menu.
We take great pride in the fact that all of our dishes are authentically Italian, based off of recipes and preparation techniques rooted in the deepest culinary traditions of Italy. You will revel in the aromas, textures, and flavor sensations in rich dishes like spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi in saffron cream sauce, and veal with black truffles. All of our dishes are prepared using only the freshest ingredients, including locally-sourced meats and produce along with pastas, bread, and desserts made in-house daily.

A Family Affair
The Italian culture is lively, vibrant and centered around the family. Chef Davide’s mother, Barbara, joined him in Helena to help with the restaurant and makes bread and pasta in the kitchen daily. The staff become honorary Italians when they come to work each day and you’ll even catch Davide’s five children enjoying a family dinner on the patio from time to time. The Italian family culture spreads past just the immediate family, and if we’ve done things right at Bella Roma, each of our guests will leave their dinner experience feeling like a member of the Bella Roma family as well.
